SalesViewer and Leadfeeder are among the best-known tools in the German-speaking region that show the companies behind website visits. Both work at company level, and both bill by identified companies. Even so, they differ clearly in price structure, scope of functions and approach to data protection. This article sets the statements of both providers side by side. There is no ranking, because which tool fits depends on your number of companies, your CRM and your sales team. The overall picture of the market is in [Visitor identification providers: Leadfeeder, SalesViewer and others](https://whovisit.app/blog/anbieter-besuchererkennung-ueberblick).

## What both have in common

Both tools assign website visits to a company via the IP address and show which pages that company has read. Both count a company only once per month, no matter how often it returns. Both offer a 14-day trial for paid plans. Neither identifies an individual person, as both are about companies.

The most important difference lies in the pricing metric. With both, identified companies count. With Leadfeeder, credits for contact data are added on top, while with SalesViewer many functions depend on the plan rather than on a balance.

## Prices at the same number of companies

A clean price comparison needs the same number of companies and the same payment method. The following table uses monthly payment. Where a provider gives no price for a tier, it says "not stated".

| Identified companies per month | SalesViewer | Leadfeeder (Discover) | Whovisit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | plan "Pro 100" mentioned, price not stated | €156 (tier 51 to 100) | €19 |
| 250 | €339 (Premium 250) | €256 (tier 201 to 400) | €39 |
| 500 | plan "Premium 500" mentioned, price not stated | €356 (tier 401 to 500) | €69 |
| 1,000 | from €629 (Individual, starts at 750 companies) | €441 (tier 501 to 1,000) | €119 |

As of 7 November 2026, prices net according to the provider's page. Providers change their prices, so check the current page before buying. The Leadfeeder pricing page gives no information on VAT, while SalesViewer states its prices expressly without VAT.

With annual payment the picture changes. Leadfeeder gives a saving of 30 percent for annual plans, and the pricing page then shows around €109 for 51 to 100 companies and €179 for 201 to 400 companies. SalesViewer mentions a 20 percent discount with annual payment but gives no amounts. Calculated, that would be around €271 for Premium 250.

Two caveats belong here. First, the plans are not identical: the Leadfeeder Discover plan includes CRM synchronisation and a programming interface, while the SalesViewer Premium plan includes video, filters, scoring and a programming interface. Second, Leadfeeder's free Lite plan lies outside this table and is explained further below. How the providers fare overall is in the [visitor identification price comparison](https://whovisit.app/blog/besuchererkennung-preisvergleich), and the details on the plans are in [SalesViewer pricing](https://whovisit.app/blog/salesviewer-preise) and [Leadfeeder pricing](https://whovisit.app/blog/leadfeeder-preise).

## Features by plan

| Feature | SalesViewer | Leadfeeder |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | no, 14-day trial | yes, Lite with the last 100 companies and 20 credits |
| Users | unlimited from Pro | Lite: unlimited |
| Websites | 1 (Pro), 5 (Premium), unlimited (Individual) | not stated |
| Instant notification | from Pro | from Discover |
| Export | from Pro | company export free only in Scale |
| Video (recording) | from Premium | not stated |
| Scoring, filters | from Premium | filters by intent from Activate |
| Programming interface | from Premium | from Discover |
| CRM synchronisation | via integrations and the Premium interface | from Discover, automations from Activate |
| Contact data | contact persons according to the features page | from Activate via credits |
| Visitor history | not stated | 7 days in Lite, longer in paid plans |

Sources: [SalesViewer pricing page](https://www.salesviewer.com/pricing), [Leadfeeder pricing page](https://www.leadfeeder.com/pricing/). What is not on the pages is "not stated" here. That does not mean the feature is missing.

The distribution is noteworthy: with SalesViewer, export is already included in the smallest plan, while video and scoring only come from Premium. With Leadfeeder, instant notification and CRM synchronisation belong to Discover, whereas company export only belongs to Scale. Anyone who works with CSV lists therefore calculates differently from someone who wants everything in the CRM.

## Approach to data protection according to their own statements

The two providers choose different paths. SalesViewer describes its method as tracking without cookies and without IP tracking, mentions an opt-out for visitors and states a German infrastructure ([data protection page](https://www.salesviewer.com/en/?p=21585)). The page does not describe consent from visitors.

Leadfeeder states that its infrastructure is at AWS in the EU and EEA. As evidence the provider cites ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 ([security page](https://www.leadfeeder.com/de/security)). On consent, according to the information in its help section, the provider offers a mode in which cookies are only set after approval. Company identification itself continues to run there.

Whether a method can manage without prior consent is a legal question and not a feature of the tool. A classification is offered in [Visitor identification and GDPR: a sober assessment](https://whovisit.app/blog/besuchererkennung-dsgvo). This article is not legal advice. If in doubt, clarify the use with your data protection adviser.

## Which suits whom

**SalesViewer suits you** if you work with a manageable number of companies, prefer a German provider and want features such as video, scoring and campaigns in the same tool. The plan can be cancelled monthly, and the number of users is not limited.

**Leadfeeder suits you** if you want to start small with the free tier, expect several hundred companies per month or want contact data and CRM synchronisation in the same system. The price rises with credits if you enrich many contacts.

**Neither** if you only want to know which companies come, what they read and when a call is worthwhile. Then a lean tool is enough. Whovisit is one, with companies without individual-level data and with the commitment that the IP address is discarded after assignment. It offers no contact data.

## Five questions before deciding

1. How many companies do you identify per month? A test with your own website answers that better than any estimate.
2. Do you need contact data, or is the name of the company enough?
3. Which CRM do you use? Does the connection have to work without an intermediate step?
4. Do you want to load the script only after consent?
5. How long do you commit? SalesViewer states monthly payment without a contract, while Leadfeeder applies different conditions to annual plans. More in [Comparing visitor identification: 12 criteria for choosing](https://whovisit.app/blog/besuchererkennung-vergleich-kriterien).

## Frequently asked questions

**Is SalesViewer or Leadfeeder cheaper?** That depends on the number of companies and the features. At 250 companies, according to the pricing pages, Leadfeeder Discover with monthly payment is below SalesViewer Premium, although the functions included are not the same. Always compare the same number of companies and payment method.

**Does either have a free tier?** Leadfeeder does, with the Lite plan for the last 100 companies and 20 credits. SalesViewer offers no free plan, but a 14-day trial.

**Do both identify individual people?** No, both work at company level. Contact data of contact persons is available from both as an add-on, with Leadfeeder via credits from the Activate plan.
