Anyone who wants to identify companies on their own website without signing a contract straight away will now find several free plans. At first glance they look similar, but they measure different things: companies, leads, credits or resolutions. This article sets the limits side by side and names what is missing in the free plan. It then shows what the next tier costs. It is not a ranking. An overall classification of the providers is in Visitor identification providers: Leadfeeder, SalesViewer and others.

The free plans at a glance

Provider and planFree limit per monthHistoryWhat is missing in the free plan
Leadfeeder Lite100 companies, 20 credits7 daysCompany profiles, instant alerts, CRM sync, API, reports for Google and LinkedIn Ads
RB2B Free150 „resolutions“, company level onlynot statedPerson level and email addresses, integrations
Leadberry Light25 leads, 3 websites, 1 user10 daysCRM connection, LinkedIn link, only one notification email per week
Webmetic Free10 companies, 3 websites, 10 contact creditsnot statedapplies only after the 14 trial days
LeadBoxer Free25,000 creditsnot stateddepending on consumption, see below
Whovisit Free10 companies, 1 websiteReport over 30 daysContact data is not available in any plan

HubSpot also shows identified companies in the free account, but only up to 20 companies per view. More requires credits and a paid subscription (HubSpot knowledge base). That is more of a preview than a free plan.

What the units of measure mean

Companies are the simplest unit. A company counts once per month, no matter how often it comes. This is how Leadfeeder and Webmetic count, as does our own plan.

Leads (Leadberry) are unique identified visitors. Whether in a given case this is a company or a private connection, the pricing page does not say. According to the provider, Leadberry separates business traffic from private traffic.

Resolutions (RB2B) are, according to the pricing page, the number of resolutions. What exactly a resolution counts is not clearly stated there. In the free plan only the company level applies.

Credits (LeadBoxer) are a balance that shrinks at different speeds per action: 20 credits for an IP identification, 10 for enriching a company, 50 for contact data, 1 for every page view. By calculation, 25,000 credits cover at most 1,250 IP identifications. Because page views also use credits, in practice it will be fewer. How many it is for you depends on your traffic.

Anyone who wants to compare figures should therefore first know their own size: how many different companies does a tool identify on your site per month? Some guidance is given in Identification rate: why the figures vary so much.

What a free plan can really do

All free plans show a list of identified companies. Three differences decide whether this becomes a working tool:

  1. History. Seven days (Leadfeeder Lite) or ten days (Leadberry Light) are enough if you look at the list daily. Anyone who only checks occasionally loses visits.
  2. Notification. With Leadfeeder Lite, instant alerts are missing, and with Leadberry Light one email arrives per week. Without an alert, the list only helps if someone opens it.
  3. Passing on. CRM sync and API are missing from Leadfeeder Lite and from Leadberry Light. What is in the list you then have to transfer by hand. What passing it on can look like later is shown in Getting website visits into the CRM: 4 ways compared.

What the next tier costs

The free plan is rarely the goal. That is why a look at the first paid plan is worthwhile.

ProviderFirst paid planMonthlyWith annual payment (per month)
Leadfeeder Discoverfrom 50 companies€113€79
Leadberry EssentialEntry tier$29$24
RB2B Starter300 resolutions, people USA only$79not stated

LeadBoxer Starter100,000 credits€149€99
Whovisit Start100 companies€19minus 20%

As of 7 November 2026, prices net according to the provider's page. Providers change their prices, so check the current page before buying. For Leadfeeder, Leadberry and RB2B the page lacks a tax note, and for Leadberry and RB2B the price is shown with a dollar sign. The plans are not comparable one to one, because each counts differently.

How to choose

  • You only want to try out who comes: Any of the free plans will do. Take the one with the suitable history.
  • You need alerts in the team: Check whether Slack, Teams or email are included in the free plan. With Leadfeeder Lite, instant alerts are excluded.
  • You have traffic from the EU: With RB2B, person identification exists only for US visitors. For visitors from the EU, the company level remains.
  • You want to grow later: Compare the first paid tier, not just the free limit.

Free does not mean free of obligations. Even for the free plan you need a consent solution and a data processing agreement. A checklist is in Data processing agreement: checklist for web tools. This article is not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is visitor identification really permanently free? Yes, with several providers, though with limits on number of companies, history and functions. Leadfeeder Lite, RB2B Free, Leadberry Light, LeadBoxer Free and our own free plan are permanent, while Webmetic leads into a small free plan after the trial.

Is a free tier enough for a small B2B website? That depends on your traffic, not on the industry. Count for two weeks how many companies a tool identifies. Compare that with the limit.

What happens when the free limit is reached? Each provider handles this differently. Some pause identification, others keep collecting and show hits only after an upgrade. Ask about this before installing, and you will find the comparison of criteria in Comparing visitor identification: 12 criteria for choosing.
